Mihai Gabureac joined our group in August 2017. He is an expert in cleanroom micro- and nano-fabrication with experience in thin film vacuum deposition, selective etching, Ar milling, photo- and e-beam-lithography, as well as advanced surface and structural characterization and metrology. He has worked previously with hybrid magnetic-superconducting tunnel junctions and has developed processes for the oxidation/growth of Alox and MgO tunnel junction barriers using feedback from magnetic devices.

Abdulkadir

Description

Abdulkadir Akin joined our group as a postdoc in October 2016. The focus of his research is on the design and implementation of very-high-speed and efficient FPGA-based systems to achieve real-time quantum information processing. Kadir obtained his PhD degree in Electrical Engineering in May 2015 from EPFL, Switzerland, and stayed there as a postdoc in the Microelectronic Systems Laboratory, before joining our group. During his time at EPFL, Kadir developed several real-time FPGA-based multiple-camera systems for advanced video-processing applications.

Francesca

Description

Francesca Bay has been working as a scientific project manager at the Quantum Lab since 2010. Before joining the group, she worked for several years in scientific and research management positions in the public and reinsurance sector. Francesca holds a PhD from the Institute of Geophysics at ETH Zurich, a CAS in Research Management from the University of Bern.

Yves

Description

Yves sucessfully completed a PhD thesis at the Quantum Device Lab in December 2017. Prior to starting his PhD thesis, he completed a master's thesis project (MSc ETH CS) in our group in 2011 and worked as a research assistant from Janaury 2012 to March 2012. After leaving the Quantum Device Lab, Yves started to work for Zurich Instruments.

Paul Magnard first joined our group as a Summer student in 2014. After completing his Masters of Advances Studies at the Universitiy of Cambrige he joined our group in September 2015 to conduct a PhD thesis.
