He previously received master's degrees at INSA Lyon and the University of Paris. His research focus is quantum machine learning using superconducting qubits, as part of the Quromorphic collaboration.

Ekaterina

Description

Ekaterina Al-Tavil joined the Quantum Device Lab in November 2019 as a PhD student. Her research focuses on hybrid quantum systems combining semiconductor quantum dots with superconducting circuits. During her Master's she worked in the Quantum coherence lab with Nicolas Roch on Travelling wave parametric amplifiers made from superconducting circuits. Ekaterina obtained her Bachelor degree from the Polytechnical University of Saint Petersburg and her Master of science in Nanophysics from University of Grenoble Alpes.

François

Description

François Swiadek joined the Quantum Device Lab in August 2019 for a PhD thesis. His research focuses on superconducting quantum computing. Previously, François worked on cavity optomechanics at Thales, on nanophotonic cavity QED with Lukin's group at Harvard and on a trapped-atom clock at Laboratoire Kastler Brossel at ENS Paris. He obtained a Diplôme d'Ingénieur from ESPCI Paris, and completed a Master of Science at ENS Paris.

Michael Kerschbaum is part of the Superconducting Circuits team of the ETH Zurich - PSI Quantum Computing Hub. He started as a PhD student in November 2020. Johannes Herrmann joined our group in May 2018 to conduct a PhD thesis. His research focuses on the electrical hardware components for quantum computing. Prior to joining our group, he obtained a degree in electrical engineering from RWTH Aachen and a degree in applied physics from Keio University in Japan.

Description

Marek Pechal is part of the Superconducting Circuits team of the ETH Zurich - PSI Quantum Computing Hub. He joined the Quantum Device Lab in September 2020 as a Senior Assistant specializing on superconducting circuit design. After obtaining his bachelor's degree from the Charles University in Prague, Marek had worked in the Quantum Device Lab on a semester thesis and a master thesis project, continuing with a PhD project which he completed in September 2016.
